NBA Dissolves Committees and Forms Transition Committee for Smooth Handover.

Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Leadership Initiates Transition Process. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has recently concluded its elections, resulting in the election of a new set of leaders to steer the affairs of the association for the next two years. As part of the transition process, the current National Executive Committee has dissolved all Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees of the association, with the exception of the 2024 Annual General Conference Planning Committee. Additionally, the tenure of the Governing Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education has also expired and been dissolved. The dissolution of these committees is a necessary step in ensuring a smooth handover process and allowing the new leadership to establish their own committees and priorities. It is important to note that the Election Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association and the National Officers Election Appeal Committee will remain standing until they are reconstituted in accordance

URGENT CALL FOR PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT KUBWA ARAB JUNCTION This call was as a result of the tragedy that struck on Wednesday, 31st July, 2024, when an elderly man was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle while attempting to cross the express road at Kubwa Arab Junction. The incident occurred along the Abuja-Kubwa-Dei-Dei expressway, a notorious stretch known for its heavy traffic and lack of pedestrian infrastructure. Eyewitnesses report that the man lay helpless and unconscious on the ground before being rushed to the hospital for medical attention. This harrowing incident highlights the dire need for a pedestrian bridge at this junction, where countless individuals risk their lives daily to enter Arab Road and Kagini on foot. Numerous accidents have occurred at this spot, resulting in loss of lives and injuries. It's imperative that we take action now to prevent future tragedies. The Otu Oka-Iwu Abuja Endowment Trust Committee is pleased to announce the commencement of the Igba Boyi Endowment program. This initiative aims to provide support and opportunities for young Igbo lawyers practicing law in Abuja. In a publication titled INVITATION FOR APPLICATION” released by the Chairman of the Otu Oka-iwu Abuja Endowment Trust Committee- Chief Ejiofor Onwuaso, the Committee invites all prospective interns…… to submit their  applications . Eligible applicants must be duly registered as financially members of Otu Okaiwu Abuja for a minimum of 6 months and should be between years 1-5 post call.
