The President of Otu-okaiwu, Abuja, Chief Chidi Udekwe Felicitates with the Nigerian Bar Association, Garki Branch on the success of their ongoing Law Week




The President of  Otu-okaiwu, Abuja expresses his congratulations to the Nigerian Bar Association, Garki Branch for their ongoing Law Week. He commended the branch chairman and his Executive body for showcasing the theme of the law week, "making a difference," through a series of thought-provoking topics discussed at the plenary sessions.


Mr. Chidi Udekwe the President of Otu-okaiwu, Abuja, the umbrella body of the Igbo Lawyers Association,  During the event, the President was accompanied by two executive members: Barr. Ogechukwu Okafor, the General Secretary, and Barr.Ochili Michael Obinna Esq, the media publicity Secretary. The President expressed his appreciation for the esteemed presenters and the enriching engagements. He also highlighted positive aspects of the event, such as the free distribution of conference bags to some members and the launch of the Garki Bar Journal.

According to the president of Otu-okaiwu,, Abuja , the NBA Garki Branch's growth can be attributed to its unwavering commitment to the principle of the Rule of Law since its inception. They commended the branch for living up to its name and fulfilling expectations.
Mr chidi Udekwe congratulated the Chairman, Obioma Ezenwobodo, for his numerous achievements during his two-year leadership of the Branch. They assured the branch that Otu Oka-iwu Abuja is ready to collaborate with them for further developmental strides.

 " I felicitate with the Nigerian Bar Association, Garki Branch for their ongoing Law Week. The  theme of the law week "making a difference" is indeed being showcased by the branch with the avalanche of thought provoking topics at its plenary sessions".

 _"The profile of presenters at the event are towering and the various engagements are enriching. The icings on the cake for the event is the "free" distribution of conference bags to some members and ultimately, the launch of Garki Bar Journal".

 "NBA Garki Branch has grown in leaps and bounds because the Branch since inception fundamentally respects the principle of Rule of Law. The Branch no doubt have lived up to its name and expectations".

NBA Anaocha Branch Names Hall After Okey Wali, SAN The (NBA), Anaocha Branch (Family Bar), has resolved to name its main meeting hall after the 26th President of the Association, . This decision was reached during the Branch’s monthly general meeting, where members unanimously approved the naming of the hall as “Hon. NBA Abuja Branch Vice Chairman Secures Release of Two Inmates After Three Years in Custody

In a significant human rights intervention, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), and Chairman of the Branch Human Rights Committee, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq., has facilitated the release of two Inmates, Bali Joshua and Paul Sunday, who had been in custody since 2023 in connection with an alleged homicide. Upon assuming office on 31st July 2026, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq. was briefed on the prolonged detention of the two individuals, whose matter had remained unresolved for more than three years. Although the Human Rights Committee of the Branch had not yet been formally inaugurated, the Vice Chairman immediately took steps to address the matter, demonstrating an early commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights and access to justice.
