Construct Pedestrian Bridge at kubwa arab junction to save lives - ochili Michael Esq Urges Government Authorities.
URGENT CALL FOR PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE AT KUBWA ARAB JUNCTION
This call was as a result of the tragedy that struck on Wednesday, 31st July, 2024, when an elderly man was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle while attempting to cross the express road at Kubwa Arab Junction. The incident occurred along the Abuja-Kubwa-Dei-Dei expressway, a notorious stretch known for its heavy traffic and lack of pedestrian infrastructure.
Eyewitnesses report that the man lay helpless and unconscious on the ground before being rushed to the hospital for medical attention. This harrowing incident highlights the dire need for a pedestrian bridge at this junction, where countless individuals risk their lives daily to enter Arab Road and Kagini on foot.
Numerous accidents have occurred at this spot, resulting in loss of lives and injuries. It's imperative that we take action now to prevent future tragedies.
In light of this devastating occurrence, Ochili Michael Esq., an Abuja-based legal practitioner and Secretary of the Humanitarian Committee on UN UPR, appeals to:
1. The Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.
2. His Excellency, Nyesom Wike, former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of FCT
3. His Excellency, Dave Umahi, Minister of Works
to take immediate action and construct a pedestrian bridge at Kubwa Arab Junction. This critical infrastructure will ensure the safety and well-being of pedestrians in the area and prevent future accidents.
We cannot afford to wait until another life is lost. I urge the relevant authorities to treat this matter with the urgency it deserves and take prompt action to safeguard the lives of our citizens. The time for action is now.
