Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Leadership Initiates Transition Process.
The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has recently concluded its elections, resulting in the election of a new set of leaders to steer the affairs of the association for the next two years. As part of the transition process, the current National Executive Committee has dissolved all Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees of the association, with the exception of the 2024 Annual General Conference Planning Committee. Additionally, the tenure of the Governing Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education has also expired and been dissolved.

It is important to note that the Election Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association and the National Officers Election Appeal Committee will remain standing until they are reconstituted in accordance with the association's constitution.
The National Executive Committee expresses its sincere appreciation to the members of the dissolved committees for their selfless service and support during their tenure. Their contributions have been invaluable to the association, and they are deserving of the Bar's gratitude.
To facilitate the transition and ensure a seamless handover, a Transition Committee has been constituted. The committee is made up of experienced legal professionals who have graciously accepted to serve the association in this capacity. Their role will be to oversee the handover process and provide guidance to the new leadership as they assume their roles.
The composition of the Transition Committee reflects a diverse range of expertise and perspectives within the legal community. It includes individuals with vast experience in various areas of law and legal practice. The committee will be chaired by Olawale Fapohunda, SAN, a respected and accomplished legal practitioner.
