OHANEZE NDIGBO CELEBRATES IGBO DAY WITH HONOURING OF PASSED NOTABLE IGBO HEROES WITH "POSTHUMOUS AWARDS".

Notable Men of substance and passed IGBO heroes  was honoured during this year's Igbo day celebration.
the event which was held yesterday, 30th Septembe, 2023. Igbo Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride, as Ndigbo came together to pay homage to some of their most revered icons. Posthumous awards were bestowed upon legendary figures such as Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, General Johnson Aguiyi Ironsi, Chinua Achebe, Chief C.C. Onoh, Sam Mbakwe, and many others who have made significant contributions to the Igbo people and Nigeria as a whole.

The Igbo Day celebration was a momentous occasion that brought the community together to honor these outstanding individuals and reflect on their legacies. It served as a reminder of the rich history and cultural heritage of the Igbo people, as well as their resilience in the face of challenges.

In addition to recognizing the contributions of these icons, the event also acknowledged the support and solidarity of Igbo special allies. These individuals have shown unwavering support and commitment to the Igbo cause, standing as advocates for justice, equity, and the overall development of the Igbo nation.

As the celebration came to a close, the spirit of unity and determination echoed throughout the gathering. With gratitude to God for a successful Igbo Day, the message was clear: "Onye aghana nwanne ya!!!" - Unity is paramount in achieving our collective goals.

NBA Anaocha Branch Names Hall After Okey Wali, SAN The (NBA), Anaocha Branch (Family Bar), has resolved to name its main meeting hall after the 26th President of the Association, . This decision was reached during the Branch’s monthly general meeting, where members unanimously approved the naming of the hall as “Hon. NBA Abuja Branch Vice Chairman Secures Release of Two Inmates After Three Years in Custody

In a significant human rights intervention, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), and Chairman of the Branch Human Rights Committee, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq., has facilitated the release of two Inmates, Bali Joshua and Paul Sunday, who had been in custody since 2023 in connection with an alleged homicide. Upon assuming office on 31st July 2026, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq. was briefed on the prolonged detention of the two individuals, whose matter had remained unresolved for more than three years. Although the Human Rights Committee of the Branch had not yet been formally inaugurated, the Vice Chairman immediately took steps to address the matter, demonstrating an early commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights and access to justice.
