NBA Abuja Branch Chairman Congratulates Chief Mrs. Ngozi Theresa Ikenga, KSJ, on Conferment of Prestigious Chieftaincy Title

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), Yakubu Philemon, SAN, congratulates one of the Branch's distinguished members, Chief Mrs. Ngozi Theresa Ikenga, KSJ, on the conferment of the revered traditional title of Ikpemaeziokwu-Akazudia I of Issele-Azagba Kingdom.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Committee and the members of the NBA Abuja Branch, the Chairman described the honour as a fitting recognition of Chief Mrs. Ikenga's exceptional contributions to the legal profession, her unwavering commitment to justice, and her lifelong dedication to humanitarian service.

The Chairman noted that Chief Mrs. Ikenga has consistently distinguished herself through exemplary leadership, integrity, and selfless service. He acknowledged her outstanding advocacy for the rights and welfare of women and children during her tenure as Past Chairperson of FIDA Abuja Branch, where she made remarkable contributions to promoting access to justice and the protection of vulnerable persons.
The Chairman further recognized her unwavering commitment to the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch, noting that she has served the Branch meritoriously in various committees over the years. Through these responsibilities, she has continued to contribute significantly to the growth, development, and advancement of the Branch while mentoring younger members of the Bar and supporting initiatives that promote professional excellence.

According to the Chairman, the conferment of the prestigious traditional title is not only a recognition of her personal accomplishments but also a testament to the immense value of her contributions to the legal profession, the NBA Abuja Branch, her community, and society at large.

"As you assume your noble responsibility as Ikpemaeziokwu-Akazudia I of Issele-Azagba Kingdom, we pray that Almighty God grants you greater wisdom, strength, sound health, and abundant grace to continue serving your community, the legal profession, and humanity with distinction," the Chairman stated.

The NBA Abuja Branch expressed pride in celebrating one of its eminent members whose achievements continue to inspire members of the legal profession across Nigeria.

The Chairman, Executive Committee, and the entire membership of the NBA Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) heartily congratulated Chief Mrs. Ngozi Theresa Ikenga, KSJ, and wished her continued success, greater accomplishments, and a fruitful reign in her new traditional office.

Counsel applies to show the document to the witness and asked if he recognises the document and thereafter an application to tender is made to the court. The court directs the registrar to show the document to the other counsel to either object to the admissibility of the document or allow it to be admitted. The First Major Casualty of Section 83 of the Electoral Act 2026 May Have Emerged

The recent decision of the Federal High Court in Fubara Dagogo v. All Progressives Congress (APC) & 3 Ors., Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/591/2026 delivered by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, represents a significant development in Nigeria’s pre-election jurisprudence. In that case, the court struck out the suit challenging the APC National Congress and proceeded to award punitive costs of ₦10 million each against the plaintiff, Mr. Fubara Dagogo, and his counsel, Chief Sir O.A.U. Onyema, for what the court considered a frivolous and non-justiciable action.
