President Bola Tinubu has appointed Abdullahi Bello as the new Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB). This comes pending confirmation by the Senate, as announced in a statement by presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale on Thursday.
The President has high expectations for Abdullahi Bello, believing that he will effectively lead the Bureau in fulfilling its mandate of upholding high standards of public morality. Bello will be replacing Aliyu Kankia, who has been serving as the acting Chairman of the CCB.
Described as a consummate professional, Bello possesses over 25 years of extensive experience in various sectors, including consulting, banking, law enforcement, financial services, and academia. It is anticipated that his expertise and integrity will guide the Bureau in ensuring that public officers adhere to the highest standards of morality and accountability.
Once the Senate provides confirmation, Bello will assume the role of Chairman and play a crucial role in maintaining transparency and ethical conduct in the Nigerian government.
Tinubu's appointment of Abdullahi Bello reflects his commitment to promoting effective leadership and maintaining the integrity of public institutions. It is expected that under Bello's leadership, the Code of Conduct Bureau will continue to serve as a cornerstone for accountability and good governance in the country.
