Failure to Restructure Nigeria Might Lead to Crisis, says Governor Obaseke.

The economic situation in Nigeria has created a sense of hopelessness among its citizens, according to Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State. He warns that failure to address the country's defects through restructuring could potentially lead to a crisis. Governor Obaseki also pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Nigerian fallen heroes during the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Benin.
During the event, Governor Obaseki emphasizes the importance of reflecting on the circumstances and crises that resulted in the loss of lives of the fallen heroes being honored. He believes it is crucial for Nigerians to deeply contemplate the current state of the country in order to avoid repeating past mistakes that have brought them to this point.

Governor Obaseki asserts that the ongoing events in West Africa provide an opportunity for political leaders to engage in profound introspection. He urges them to stop pretending and deceiving themselves and acknowledges that Nigeria must be restructured. Failure to do so, he warns, could potentially lead to a crisis. However, he expresses his hope that such a scenario can be avoided.

Putting Pressure on the Political System:

Governor Obaseki calls on Nigerians to exert pressure on the political system to be more attentive to the current situation in the country. He believes that as they remember the fallen heroes, it is crucial to hold the political leaders accountable and demand that they address the fundamental defects and issues plaguing Nigeria.

In Conclusion,

Governor Obaseki's remarks during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration highlight the urgent need for Nigeria to undergo restructuring. He stresses that failure to address the country's defects could potentially lead to a crisis. As Nigerians remember the sacrifices made by fallen heroes, Governor Obaseki urges citizens to put pressure on the political system to take decisive action and redesign the country for growth and prosperity.
