WHAT IS REQUIRED OF US AS CHRISTIANS AMIDST THIS COVID 19 PANDEMIC.

http://obinnamichaelochili.comMy advice To the people of our great nation Nigeria at this point in time.
If we can fear God the way we fear coronavirus and other threatening issue causing havoc around us, we would by now be positive on who we are .
Don't use this period as a period to engage in any kind of sin, for Whatever you do in life  whether seen or  unseen has a reward .

Reve 22 v 12 “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work".

The leaders who roots and  are still re -rototing recovered rooted funds made for public use, has a reward for that .

A public servant who refused to carry out his duty because of favour or interest has a reward.

Governors and  political leaders who embezzles funds and coverts properties entrusted to them has a reward.

The police officers who sees the gun given to them for safety keeping of those around them as an opportunity to extort money, maltreat  and kill the said innocent people entrusted on them to guide and protect , has a reward.

managers/ directors who use there opportunity as one to take bribe and sleep with female counterparts with a promise to engage  or promote them ,your rewards awaits you.

Lecturers us who extorts money from the students and sleep with female students in the name of awarding marks to them ,your rewards awaits you.

Those who tell lies in the name of profit making or for interest of any kind your rewards awaits you.

Rev 22 v 11:He who is evil and unjust, let him go on doing evil and been unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”

Rev 22v 14:Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.

Rev22v15: But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, liars and whoever loves and practices a lie.

Therefore when the time comes the rooted billions, extortion funds, bribes in our accounts can not save us.because God can not be bribed .
The houses and mansions we build everywhere there is estate and the large plots of lands we acquire in a new layout ,will not save us

The lands we compulsory acquire from the poor, can not save us on the last day.

The wealth we emance for our children both living and unborn will not save us.

The "i am this and that", will not save us .

Very filthy life we live in the name of belonging to the ruling class or to succeed, will not save us on the last day.

WHO KNOWS THE LAST DAY?
The last day can be any time .once a person dies there is no opportunity for repentance again.

What can only save us is having fear of God and keeping his commands.

Living a holy  and righteous life , helping the poor and need ,clothing the naked, visiting the
Those in the hospital and freeing the captive .
Matthew 25 v 31-46.

Anyone who continue to live in sin shall not enter or inherit  the kingdom of God.Gal 5 V 21.

Galatians 5:19-21 King James Version (KJV)
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,

20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,

21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Colossians 3 v 6 the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience.

We must come back to God and ask for his mercy and forgiveness and leave our old self .
There is satisfaction in serving and obeying God's commandments.

THERE IS NO REPENTANCE IN GRAVE YARD.

The promise of God is that he will protect us from every danger and from every deadly diseases. Psm 91 v3

Therefore let's put all our trust in God for He will surely↘️
↘️protect  us and keep us safe amidst the covid 19 pandemic.

Section 83 and the Myth of Judicial Silence in Party Politics

The recent assertion by my brother, Festus Okoye Esq, that lawyers have become scapegoats in internal party conflicts owing to their recourse to the courts calls for careful constitutional and judicial interrogation. At the centre of this debate lies Section 83 of the Electoral Act 2026, particularly the suggestion that it absolutely ousts the jurisdiction of the courts over the internal affairs of political parties. With the greatest respect to lawyers who are holding this view, that broad interpretation may appear overstretched and not constitutionally sustainable. Section 83(5) of the Electoral Act, read in isolation, appears to bar courts from entertaining disputes relating to party internal issues absolutely.  On a literal reading, it suggests a legislative intent to shield political parties from judicial scrutiny. That may not absolutely be true. Such a construction ignores a foundational principle of Nigeria’s constitutional order, which is the fact that...

Justice Delivery and Prevailing Conflicting Judgments: An Imperative for Urgent Judicial Reforms

I had the rare  privilege of participating as a panelist at the Biennial Law Week of the Nigerian Bar Association, Anaocha Branch, Anambra State this weekend,  where distinguished Professors of Law, Justices of various courts, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, and legal scholars gathered to interrogate one of the most pressing challenges confronting the Nigerian judiciary today: "the growing menace of conflicting judgments and the urgent need for judicial reforms". The topic was not only timely but fundamental to the survival of public confidence in the administration of justice. A judiciary that speaks with contradictory voices weakens the rule of law, undermines democratic stability, and erodes citizens’ faith in the courts as impartial arbiters of justice. Conflicting judgments occur when courts of coordinate jurisdiction issue inconsistent decisions on the same subject matter, thereby creating uncertainty and confusion in the legal system. Unfortunately, this distu...

The Issues for determination: The lawsuit intends to address several key issues that have arisen from the vetoed bills. These issues include: 1. Compliance with Timeframe: The first issue to be determined is whether the Rivers State House of Assembly adhered to the constitutional provision that requires a 30-day period to elapse from when the bill was submitted to the governor. 2. Legislative Authority: The second issue revolves around whether a State Hou...

LET OLUNIDE AKPATA HAVE A GOOD BREATH-SELAH TO THOSE CLAMORING FOR A SAN CANDIDACY .

WHO IS AFRAID OF OLUMIDE AKPATA? The desperation to kick out Olumide Akpata at all cost from the NBA presidential election [as they did to Mazi Afam Osigwe during the last cycle] is so sickening. It stinks to high heaven!  1. First they said he is not from the West and cannot run for office. That one failed, and the ECNBA cleared the man. 2. They called him all sorts of names for donating palliatives to his NBA branch at the peak of the Coronavirus pandemic, and called for his disqualification because, according to them, this kind gesture (which his detractors never showed their colleagues) was designed to entice lawyers! This failed. 3. They said he is not a SAN and has no litigation experience because the NBA only belongs to awon "My Lord, May I?" Apologies to Lasisi Elenu. Like the ones before it, this propaganda failed. 4. Then, they wrote a terribly insulting letter calling on the Body of SANs to make sure no junior lawyer ("including Mr Akpata who has b...

Courts and their jurisdiction.

There are different types of courts in Nigeria. Each of them has its own functions. So, what are the hierarchy of courts in Nigeria? Let's find this out together. Actually, courts in Nigeria are renowned and recognized as the hallowed chambers of jurisdiction, where candid justice is meted out to all and sundry, without favoritism, sentiment, emotion, or being unnecessarily involved in crass legalism. What is more, we do not only have courts of law but courts of equity as well. The Nigerian Constitution divides the government’s structure into three branches – the legislative, executive, and judiciary. According to the Section 6 of the 1999 Constitution, judicial powers are vested in the courts. Courts are authorized by law to exercise jurisdiction at first instance, and on appeals in all proceedings and actions relating to matters between people, or between government/authority and any person in Nigeria. It is also aimed at defining any question as to the civil rights a...
