SPEAKER SPOTLIGHT: OBA OLUFON, ESQ

Sir Oluwatosin Babatunde Olufon, Esq is an International Trade and Business Lawyer, Senior Diplomatic Consultant, Commercial Strategist and Legal Practitioner. 

He is the Head of Legal Practice at OBA OLUFON & CO., Abuja, and serves as Director of Notarial Services for the Legal Office serving the Embassy of France in Nigeria. His practice spans civil and commercial litigation, corporate restructuring, international business transactions, intellectual property, employment and industrial law, regulatory compliance, contract enforcement and business recovery.

He has advised and represented blue-chip corporations, financial institutions, multinational enterprises, diplomatic missions, sovereign interests, private investors, entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals. His experience covers commercial transactions, corporate financing, mergers and acquisitions, international trade, banking and financial transactions, regulatory compliance, debt recovery, judgment enforcement and complex commercial disputes across Nigeria and international jurisdictions including France, Germany and the United Arab Emirates.

OBA OLUFON has particular expertise in diplomatic and international legal affairs and in Contracts of Sale by Private Treaty, where he advises on the structuring, negotiation, documentation and enforcement of complex transactions. His approach combines commercial ingenuity, strategic risk allocation and practical problem-solving, with a focus on protecting assets, managing risk and creating commercially effective legal solutions.

He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association and serves on the International Trade Committee of the NBA Section on Business Law. He is a former Legal Adviser of the NBA Unity Bar, Abuja, and also serves on the NBA Local Government Monitoring Committee. He is a member of the Certified Institute of Auctioneers, Nigeria, and the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).

NBA ABUJA BRANCH CONDEMNS THE ILLEGAL ARREST AND DETENTION OF SIMON AROMOSELE, ESQ. IN THE COURSE OF THE DISCHARGE OF HIS LAWFUL PROFESSIONAL DUTIES The Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), strongly condemns the illegal arrest and detention of one of its members, Mr. Simon Aromosele, Esq., today by officers of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja, in connection with the discharge of his lawful professional duties. Mr. Aromosele was arrested for writing to OPay Bank on behalf of his client, requesting the lifting of a restriction on his client's account or the production of the court order authorising the restriction.
