Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN Hails Unity Bar Amazons’ Historic Fourth Consecutive President’s Cup Triumph, Salutes Unity Bar FC’s Third-Place Finish at the AGC 2026 President's Cup.


Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, Ph.D., has congratulated the Unity Bar Amazons of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) on their remarkable victory in the women’s category of the President’s Cup at the 2026 NBA Annual General Conference (AGC) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The Amazons emerged champions after a keenly contested final against NBA Bwari Branch Ladies, further cementing their reputation as a dominant force in the competition.

Remarkably, this is the fourth consecutive time the Unity Bar Amazons have lifted the coveted trophy, an extraordinary feat that underscores the team’s consistency, resilience, discipline and winning mentality. Winning once is an achievement, but successfully retaining the crown year after year for four consecutive editions is a feat deserving of special recognition.

Chief Obegolu, SAN, described the achievement as a source of immense pride to the Unity Bar and commended the players, technical crew and supporters whose collective efforts have sustained the team’s impressive run.

“Four consecutive championships is no ordinary achievement. These ladies deserve their flowers and a red-carpet celebration. They have consistently represented the Unity Bar with courage, discipline and excellence, and they have once again made the entire Branch proud,” he said.

He equally hailed Unity Bar FC, the male team of the NBA Abuja Branch, for finishing third in the men’s category, applauding the players for their impressive performance, resilience and fighting spirit throughout the tournament.

Chief Obegolu, SAN, noted that both the Unity Bar Amazons and Unity Bar FC have brought glory and honour to the NBA Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) through their outstanding performances at the President’s Cup. He said the achievements of both teams demonstrate the competitive spirit, unity and pursuit of excellence for which the Abuja Branch is known.

He further congratulated the leadership and entire membership of the NBA Abuja Branch, as well as the players, coaches and supporters who stood behind both teams throughout the competition.

For the Unity Bar Amazons, it is four titles in a row and a remarkable chapter of sustained dominance in the President’s Cup. Together with Unity Bar FC’s impressive third-place finish, both teams have flown the Unity Bar flag proudly and returned from AGC 2026 with honour and glory for the Abuja Branch.

NBA ABUJA BRANCH CONDEMNS THE ILLEGAL ARREST AND DETENTION OF SIMON AROMOSELE, ESQ. IN THE COURSE OF THE DISCHARGE OF HIS LAWFUL PROFESSIONAL DUTIES The Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), strongly condemns the illegal arrest and detention of one of its members, Mr. Simon Aromosele, Esq., today by officers of the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit, Force Headquarters, Abuja, in connection with the discharge of his lawful professional duties. Mr. Aromosele was arrested for writing to OPay Bank on behalf of his client, requesting the lifting of a restriction on his client's account or the production of the court order authorising the restriction.
