A high-powered delegation from Otu Oka-iwu Abuja, led by its President, Chief Chidi Udekwe, recently visited the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) in Abuja. The meeting, held at NOTAP's office on Bluntyre Street, off Adetokunbo Ademola Crescent, Wuse 2, aimed to foster cooperation and ensure compliance with NOTAP's regulations among Igbo businessmen.
The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) is a federal agency established to regulate the acquisition, transfer, and utilization of foreign technology in Nigeria. Its primary goal is to promote local innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth while preventing the exploitation of local industries.

The meeting, which lasted approximately two hours, emphasized the importance of registration with NOTAP for individuals and businesses acquiring or transferring foreign technology. This collaboration seeks to educate and encourage Igbo businessmen to comply with NOTAP's regulations, promoting authenticity and local innovation.
Otu Oka-iwu noted the need for more public awareness to traders and businessmen whom mostly are from the South East.This awareness will encourage registration and authentic branding of locally produced goods, such as shoes, clothes, rather than falsely claiming foreign origins.
The Director-General of NOTAP commended Otu Oka-iwu Abuja for their visit and expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. This joint effort will promote a culture of compliance, innovation, and authenticity among Igbo businessmen, contributing to Nigeria's economic growth.
