Chairman of Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) and Executive Body Congratulate Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN on His Inauguration as 12th President of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry.


The prestigious International Conference Centre (ICC) Abuja, Nigeria, was filled with joy and pride as Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN was inaugurated as the 12th President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Among those extending their warm congratulations to Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN on his new leadership role were the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Unity Bar Abuja, Mazi Afam Okeke and the esteemed executive body.

The ceremony, which took place on the 8th of February, 2024, was graced by notable guests including the obi of Onitsha, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Umeh, philanthropist Obi Cubana, as well as distinguished members of the legal profession and the business community. The air was filled with optimism and anticipation for the positive impact Chief Emeka Obegolu would bring to the Chamber.

In his inaugural address, Chief Emeka Obegolu outlined the Chamber's strategic priorities, including infrastructure development, professionalizing the Secretariat, repositioning the brand, legislative and policy advocacy, ease of doing business, and expanding market opportunities. His commitment to excellence and service resonated with the audience, highlighting the Chamber's vital role in driving economic growth and facilitating trade.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) and the executive body commended Chief Emeka Obegolu's exceptional legal expertise and esteemed reputation within the legal profession. They lauded him as one of the finest Learned silks and Elders of the Bar, recognizing the immense contribution he has made to the legal community and now to the business community as well.

The outgoing President, Mr. Al-Mujtaba Abubakar, also extended his congratulations to Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN, expressing confidence in the new leadership team's ability to collaborate with the government in advocating for policies that support businesses and economic growth.

NBA Anaocha Branch Names Hall After Okey Wali, SAN The (NBA), Anaocha Branch (Family Bar), has resolved to name its main meeting hall after the 26th President of the Association, . This decision was reached during the Branch’s monthly general meeting, where members unanimously approved the naming of the hall as “Hon. NBA Abuja Branch Vice Chairman Secures Release of Two Inmates After Three Years in Custody

In a significant human rights intervention, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), and Chairman of the Branch Human Rights Committee, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq., has facilitated the release of two Inmates, Bali Joshua and Paul Sunday, who had been in custody since 2023 in connection with an alleged homicide. Upon assuming office on 31st July 2026, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq. was briefed on the prolonged detention of the two individuals, whose matter had remained unresolved for more than three years. Although the Human Rights Committee of the Branch had not yet been formally inaugurated, the Vice Chairman immediately took steps to address the matter, demonstrating an early commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights and access to justice.
