Rescheduling of Supreme Court Sitting

The Chief justice  of Nigeria has directed the rescheduling of the Supreme Court sitting that was originally planned to take place between the 13th and 17th of November, 2023.

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding the sitting of thec Supreme Court of Nigeria.

His lordship, the Honourable Chief Justice of Nigeria, Hon. Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, GCON, has directed the rescheduling of the Supreme Court sitting that was originally planned to take place between the 13th and 17th of November, 2023.

This decision has been made in order to allow the Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court to attend the All Nigeria Judges' Conference, which is scheduled to be held during the same period.
The Supreme Court's Registry will communicate the new dates for the sitting to all affected parties and their counsel in due course.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter.

NBA Anaocha Branch Names Hall After Okey Wali, SAN The (NBA), Anaocha Branch (Family Bar), has resolved to name its main meeting hall after the 26th President of the Association, . NBA Abuja Branch Vice Chairman Secures Release of Two Inmates After Three Years in Custody

In a significant human rights intervention, the Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), and Chairman of the Branch Human Rights Committee, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq., has facilitated the release of two Inmates, Bali Joshua and Paul Sunday, who had been in custody since 2023 in connection with an alleged homicide. Upon assuming office on 31st July 2026, Ikemefuna Onyeka, Esq. was briefed on the prolonged detention of the two individuals, whose matter had remained unresolved for more than three years. Although the Human Rights Committee of the Branch had not yet been formally inaugurated, the Vice Chairman immediately took steps to address the matter, demonstrating an early commitment to the protection of fundamental human rights and access to justice.
