The Otu-Okaiwu Abuja to launch an apprenticeship program specifically for Igbo young lawyers residing in Abuja.
Otu-Okaiwu Abuja, is an Association of Igbo Legal practitioners and consultants based in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Even (Endowment launch) is scheduled to take place as follows;
Date: 14th September, 2023.
Venue: At the NBA House, plot 1101, Muhammad Buhari Way, Central Area, Abuja.
Time: At 1:pm prompt.
According to the president of the Association;
Chief Barr Onwuaso Ejiofor.
"The scheme focuses on providing financial assistance and legal mentorship to young lawyers of the group, with the goal of enhancing their professional development and contributing to the advancement of the legal profession".
Through this endowment scheme, eligible Igbo lawyers in Abuja, within the ranges of 1-6 years, can apply for mentorship training, financial stipends, or scholarships to support their legal education, professional training, and research endeavors.
Under this program, participants are paired with experienced legal consultants and lawyers who act as mentors. These mentors provide guidance and training to the apprentices, imparting practical knowledge and skills in the legal profession. Apprentices have the opportunity to learn from these experienced lawyers, observe court proceedings, assist with legal research, and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of legal practice.
The Otu-Okaiwu Abuja Apprentice Scheme also provides financial support to apprentices, helping to cover their basic needs during the apprenticeship period. This support enables participants to focus on their legal training without financial constraints.
By participating in this scheme, young Igbo lawyers interested in pursuing a career in law can gain valuable experience, enhance their legal knowledge, and develop the necessary skills to succeed in the legal profession. The program plays a significant role in empowering and promoting Igbo representation in the legal field in Abuja.
